More Fairy Tale Resources For K-2

Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and logically about what to do or what to believe.
It is deliberately and systematically processing information so that you can make better decisions and generally understand things better.
One of the most important skills that students need to improve their reading comprehension is the ability to distinguish between facts and opinions, a higher order thinking skill. When students make this distinction, they look beyond the literal meaning of the text and read critically, which improves comprehension of the text.
Someone with critical thinking skills is able to  understand the logical connections between ideas.

Because some of the questions on the cards have right or wrong answers (What happened at the beginning of this Fairy Tale?); and some of the cards require critical thinking (What would you have done differently if you were one of the characters in this Fairy Tale?) you will need to use your professional judgment based on the level of your class to determine what constitutes a correct answer.
It is suggested that you play this game in a whole group or in small groups to demonstrate how to play the game and how to determine if an answer is acceptable.
